From Rabbit Lab to Rabbit Rescue: Colleagues Share Their Story

Two former rabbit laboratory workers and one shared journey from research to rescue. In Justify’s second webinar, colleagues who once worked together in rabbit research will reflect on their experiences inside the laboratory, the questions and psychological impacts that emerged, and the path that ultimately led them to collaborate on a rescue organization providing adoption and sanctuary to former laboratory rabbits. Featuring: - Mallory Cormier, CVT, is a Justify Co-Founder and the Founder of Save The Buns, Inc. Her previous experience in a pharmaceutical rabbit breeding facility provided firsthand insight into the care and conditions of animals used in research, which continued to impact her after leaving the field. - Katrina Letourneau holds a B.S. in Natural Science from Worcester State University. She began her career as a laboratory technician working with goats and rabbits in a rabbit breeding and research facility, where her responsibilities included animal care, husbandry, facility maintenance, cleaning, and supporting research activities. As with our first webinar, much of this conversation will be guided by your questions.
