About this event

Please join the UIC Animal Law Program on Tuesday, April 1, from 12-1 PM Central for a panel discussion featuring four former animal research personnel! The panel discussion will explore the effects of animal testing—both on the animals used in research and the lab workers who care for them. Panelists Rebecca Critser (Johns Hopkins University Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing), Madeline Krasno (Justify), Emily Trunnell (Science Advancement & Outreach) and Daria Bednarczyk (Vermont Law & Graduate School) are doing cutting-edge work in law, science, and advocacy to protect the interests of research animals. They’re also leading the movement to support the growing number of scientists and lab workers speaking out about the psychological toll of working in the industry.
