Animal Rights Activism: Leafleting for the Animals

Help spread a message of compassion for all sentient beings by distributing animal rights information to passersby in busy Bethesda. Many of us who are vegan for the animals can recall a defining moment that helped us make the connection between animal cruelty and our diet/lifestyle. If we wouldn't confine our pets to filthy cramped quarters or subject them to painful procedures without anesthesia, why would we let someone do it to cows or chickens or pigs just to please our appetites? For many, becoming vegan is a slow process that sprouts from the seeds of knowledge and awareness. I think of leafleting as planting these seeds, and I know many people who transitioned to a vegan lifestyle after reading a leaflet handed to them on the street. We'll meet in front of Rooted3 (4916 Cordell Ave, Bethesda) and then head down the street where an outdoor concert will be taking place. After we leaflet we can reconvene at Rooted3 for dinner. I will provide guidance for those who have never leafleted before. (I find it's best not to wear clothing that says "Vegan" on it, so leave your Rockville Vegans garb at home for this one.)
