ONLINE MEETING: 'Patch Plays': Vegan Activism through Theatre

Our guest speakers are Anastasia Bunce and Grace Joy Howarth. Anastasia and Grace create theatre that engages audiences with the themes of animal ethics and climate change. As director and writer, they will speak about how they create thought-provoking theatre that can spark conversations among audiences new to these themes. Anastasia is the artistic director and founder of Patch Plays. She has directed three shows for Patch Plays, and is excited about the potential that theatre has as a form of entertainment to engage audiences' empathy with the important themes of animal ethics and climate sustainability. Grace Joy Howarth is a playwright, author, composer, and one of Patch Plays' associate writers. Since working with Patch Plays, she has written and produced two shows about veganism. As a lifelong vegan, she is excited to bring complex activist stories to the stage. Patch Plays latest production is 'Blood On Your Hands' which has been shortlisted and longlisted for national awards. It is performing at the Southwark Playhouse from 17 Jan - 3 Feb 2024.
