Dine Out @ Sawatdee Saint Paul: Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge

They have an incredible dish entered in the competition that we’re holding a dine-out to try. We’ll also take a simple optional action together at the event to help animals, like calling our reps or signing a petition. After that, we’ll rate the food, and your rating will help us see how it stacks up! What’s the food? We’ll be trying out Sawatdee's new Gaeng Som (Thai Sour Curry) – perfectly fried tofu, broccoli, napa cabbage, pineapple, and green beans. This tangy red curry is enhanced with krachai and tamarind. It's free of any of the fish/shrimp derivatives typically found in curry paste, and for those with allergies, also free from coconut milk. Sawatdee's Minneapolis and Saint Paul locations are offering the Gaeng Som during August 2026 as part of the TC Vegan Chef Challenge. All of the Sawatdee locations (also in Bloomington and Maple Grove) have a variety of vegan dishes available, with many noodle, tofu, mock duck, vegetable, and rice dishes available! They also offer drinks and fresh-cut mangoes for dessert. How can I vote on the dish? What is the Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge? Each August, restaurants around the Twin Cities add a new vegan dish to the menu. Diners visit restaurants and rate each dish they try. These ratings will be used to determine the winners! We’ll crown the winning chef at a ceremony on Sunday, September 20, at Twin Cities Veg Fest at Harriet Island Park in Saint Paul.
