Rally Against SOBA: Urge Senator Merkley to Protect Farmed Animals!

Join Pro-Animal Oregon outside U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley’s Portland office to ask him to make a public statement in opposition to the Save Our Bacon Act (SOBA)! With Farm Bill negotiations stalled during the August recess, we have a critical window to take action. SOBA is an industry-backed loophole that could gut crucial animal welfare laws like California’s Prop 12, removing farmed animal protections against extreme confinement. Local pressure on Senators is driving this issue, and getting Senator Merkley to make a public statement in opposition would be a huge step forward in keeping this dangerous language out of the Farm Bill.
