About this event

Across the nation, Compass Group USA, one of the biggest food suppliers in the country, is profiting off of the cruel and inhumane breeding of hens bred to grow so large and so fast, they experience constant pain and suffering. Despite promising to ban this cruel practice within their supply chain and stop serving the bodies of Frankenchickens, Compass Group has failed to meaningfully act! Show up with Mercy for Animals September 16 4:00-5:00pm at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of Compass Groups's most prominent NYC clients. We will be demanding the Met hold Compass group accountable for their broken promises and educating the public on the severe animal cruelty taking place in the Met’s food supply chain. By attending this and other Mercy For Animals events, you agree to our Volunteer Terms (https://mercyforanimals.org/volunteer-terms/) and Volunteer Handbook (https://file-cdn.mercyforanimals.org/mercy4animals.wpengine.com/sites/450/2022/01/MFA-Volunteer-Handbook.pdf). Double Header for Chicken welfare: After the demo there will an opportunity to head to Williamsburg to help with the Kaporos chicken care vigils. Details TBD. Please see https://www.facebook.com/share/1J5wTpc4s2/ for more info on Kaporos Compassion Project.
