Billy & Tina's ZOO PROTEST

Next Los Angeles Zoo protest: SUNDAY, Nov 1 from 10 to 12 noon. The Billy and Tina the elephants formerly held by the LA Zoo are now at the bleak Tulsa Zoo. Our flyer photograph was taken from a viewing area showing the elephant barn. Zoos claim to be educational: that they offer a unique way to see exotic animals that most people would never set eyes on, that they show kids what animals are like. Think about that a moment. Does this show what an Asian elephant is like in the jungles of South-east Asia? How they act, how they think? What their family, social, and cultural life is like? You've probably seen the documentary footage of elephants in the wild, so the answer is definitely a big NO. Another thing: does Tulsa Zoo really believe elephants are so lacking in consciousness that they wouldn't mind, wouldn't even know about, noisy humans congregating and gawking at them all day in what the zoo claims is their home? We in Los Angeles demand that our city never hold elephants captive again. We want an official #elephantfreepolicy. Join us at our next protest if you feel the same:SUNDAY, Nov 1 from 10 to 12 noon / Los Angeles Zoo / 5333 Zoo Drive / free parkingWhether you want to hold a sign, chant, do speakouts, take photos and videos, bang a drum, chalk, hand out flyers or talk to zoo goers, we have a place for you with our team!
