Vigil @ Foster Farms Kelso, Wa

A Vigil for the Victims at Foster Farms, Kelso, WA October 27th9am Foster Farms in Kelso has the capacity to kill up to 120,000 chickens every day—tens of thousands of individuals whose lives are taken for unnecessary human pleasures. Project Live Stream is holding a place for vegan animal rights activists to live stream the victims being trafficked into the facility. We will hold a quiet candlelight vigil as a reminder to this industry that we are watching and we do not consent to this violence. If these were dogs, the community would be outraged; chickens feel and want to live just the same. There is no morally relevant difference. When & where: Meet at 9:00 a.m. on the public sidewalk in front of Foster Farms, Kelso, WA. We will stay at least 1 hour, aiming for 2. What to bring: Vegan signs (some provided), LED/battery candles or tea lights (some provided), warm/rain-ready clothing, and sturdy shoes (there is a nearby bench for resting). Safety: Approaching transport trucks is extremely dangerous. Stay on the sidewalk, never behind a truck, and only move closer when it is completely stopped and clearly safe; if in doubt, stay back. Our focus is witnessing the chickens being transported (trafficked) into the slaughterhouse and livesstreaming on Anti-Animal-Use’s YouTube so others can see the eyes of the victims. Even if we see no trucks, our presence matters. This is a somber, peaceful, non-confrontational event. We hold no hate toward workers or drivers. Respectful conversation is welcome, but do not argue or fight with anyone. We are there only for the animals and to be present for them. Please reach out to @Rebecca or myself (@annaharrisvsl) if you have any questions.
