About this event
Join The Humane League and Mercy for Animals for back-to-back actions in Charlotte and Matthews, NC on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 22nd, to speak out against corporations abusing animals. Sign up to receive the exact locations!
At 1pm advocates will gather in Charlotte to bring attention to the animal suffering in Compass Group's supply chains. Compass Group is the largest food service company in the US and the worldβand it has the power to improve the lives of an estimated 70 million chickens every year by following through on its chicken welfare commitment π
After months of public pressure and thousands of petition signatures collected by activists across the country, it's time to deliver our message in person. Join us at Compass Group's US headquarters as we hand-deliver thousands of signatures and show the company that people across the country expect it to keep its promise to animals.
At 3pm advocates will converge in Matthews, NC, to peacefully protest outside another corporation's headquarters: Harris Teeter. Harris Teeter and its parent company Kroger have failed to make meaningful progress to eliminate cruel cages from their egg supply chain. Massive companies like McDonald's, Subway, and Costco are leaving them in the dust when to comes to animal welfare. We're going to make it clear that this is utterly unacceptable. This will be our second time returning to Harris Teeter HQ, and this time we're coming with an amplified sound permit π£
No previous activism or protest experience needed. Signs will be provided, but attendees are also welcome to create their own πͺ§ Register to receive the meet-up locations. Invite your friends and charge your megaphones!
