*Feel free to join Animal Rights Initiative and our colleagues at NARN for our next demonstration against UW's horrid primate testing lab. We will be hitting the streets by the UW light rail station at rush hour, raising awareness about the lab and calling on UW to shut it down. All materials provided!!* The WA NPRC is a tortuous underground lab, imprisoning over 900 long-tailed, pig-tailed, and rhesus macaques (and other animals). It is located on the University of Washington campus, yet few students and faculty know of its existence. We aim to change that. Extremely harmful and incredibly invasive experiments have been conducted on sentient primates for over 60 years at the Wa NPRC. Tens of millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent with very little, if any, benefit for human health. Meanwhile, non-animal testing methodologies like organs -on-a-chip, human cell-based assays, and advanced computer modeling don't receive the needed attention they deserve for use in human health studies.It's time to shut down the primate research lab, UW!
