About this event
If you are looking for something to do besides terrifying animals by detonating loud explosives on the evening of the 4th of July, consider getting above it all on a hike with vegans to look down at fireworks from a distance.
Let's meet just outside the main gate to the parking lot at the Far East end of Indian School NE. Park on the street just outside the main gate rather than going into the parking lot. GPS coordinates 35.098755, -106.481303 (or use 13999 Indian School NE to find the right area, but please don't ring any doorbells.)
We'll take trail 365A and trail 365, walk around the dry lake bed and take time for some stops at some scenic overlooks on the way back. There are a couple of steep hills and a lot of rocky uneven parts, but most of the way will be gentle rolling hills and there will be some pauses to rest and take in the view. We'll be out late enough to see the CABQ grand finalés.
Leave enough time for parking and prep to help us hit the trail at 8:00 PM sharp. Bring a flashlight and water. Asking other hikers for water is not cool.
Please respect all attendees of the ABQ vegan event by ensuring that any snacks or drinks that you bring for yourself are completely vegan.
