The Mallard Mile

Join us for a beer mile on Friday, June 26th at 7:30 PM. This is a flash fundraiser for Pro-Animal D.C. at Maury Wills Field, right next to Banneker Recreation Center. If you’ve never heard of a beer mile, it’s simple and hilarious: you chug a 12oz drink, run/walk a lap, and repeat that four times until you hit a mile. Check-in is at 7:30 PM, and the single-heat race kicks off at 8:00 PM, but anyone can also just come to watch! It will be quite the spectacle, and there are plenty of ways to help out if you want to get involved! We’ll have music and vegan pizza. It's going to be a party with fun door prizes, good vibes, and dancing. If you want to run, it’s $25 to enter, and all of the funds go towards helping animals, specifically funding our foie gras prohibition campaign. No glass, cans or plastic bottles only.Please make sure your drinks are free of any animal products like dairy or eggs! If you’re under 21, don't drink alcohol, or just prefer a different vibe, you are absolutely welcome to swap the beer for your favorite soda, seltzer, or kombucha. We won't be checking IDs, so please just follow the law, grab your 4-pack, and let's run for the animals! If you’re running/walking, bring a 4-pack of canned, animal-product-free beverages for the. Feel free to bring along any extra vegan snacks or sides you'd like to share alongside the pizza. You might also want a picnic chair or blanket. If you have them, bring hype gear like cowbells, whistles, or noisemakers to cheer on the runners. Street parking will be the best option.
