Pig Barn Clean Out

Help us clean out our Pig Barn! It might surprise you to learn that pigs are relatively clean animals! The reason they love to roll around in mud is that they lack sweat glands. The mud helps cool them off, regulates their body temperature, and acts as a layer of sunscreen! Every year, we do a deep clean of their barn to keep them safe and comfortable. We're looking for some volunteers to help tidy their home. This involves some physical labor, such as raking, shoveling, wiping down walls, and carrying buckets, but everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace! Any bit helps! No prior experience required. This work party will run from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Must be 16 or older to volunteer. 12-15-year-olds may volunteer with a parent or guardian. Once the Pig Barn is cleaned out, please join us for a plant-based potluck! Those approved to go into animal areas may also visit our other animal residents.
