About this event
Paws & Plants is a science-based summit bringing together FOUR veterinary researchers from the UK and the US to discuss emerging evidence on plant-based nutrition for companion animals and explore research on sustainable approaches to companion animal care. Please join us for this special one-day-only event with Live Q&A.
For animals Current clinical research shows that both dogs and cats can thrive on a nutritionally sound plant-based diet. These findings are supported by peer-reviewed studies evaluating health markers such as longevity, nutrient adequacy, and overall wellbeing when diets are properly formulated. Global implementation of vegan dog foods alone would spare six billion land animals from slaughter annually.
For our planet In nations with high levels of pet ownership, including the United States, pet food is estimated to contribute to at least 20% of the environmental impacts linked to livestock production. Global implementation of vegan dog foods would save more greenhouse gasses than emitted by the whole of the UK, and would free sufficient food energy to feed the entire EU human population.
You are cordially invited to our online summit featuring FOUR extraordinary veterinary researchers from the UK and the US sharing the latest science-based research on companion animal health using plant-based diets as compared to conventional meat-based diets. You will be welcome to ask your questions to our panel of experts about how to do what is best for the animals you care for in your family, while minimizing harm to other animals and the planet.
