About this event
The Northwest Animal Rights Network is hosting an online Know Your Rights training, presented by The Animal Activist Legal Defense Project, on Monday, February 16, at 6 PM. This free training will last approximately 90 minutes.
Presented by an experienced Washington State criminal defense attorney, this training will provide you with a basic toolkit to effectively assert your constitutional rights while engaging in protests. Interacting with law enforcement can be an inevitable part of campaigning. While no training can avoid every negative interaction, effectively asserting your rights minimizes the risks of unwanted legal entanglements, both allowing you to be more confident as an activist and keeping your time and energy focused where it is needed: those who need our voices. Our trainings are based on general constitutional principles and are designed to provide an easy-to-remember and easy-to-use approach to best protecting your rights while advocating for change.
