ARCPDX Book Club - "The Serviceberry" (Jan 2026)

📚The first book we will be discussing in 2026 will be "The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World" by Robin Wall Kimmerer! This is a short book (~112 pages), so we'll be discussing the entire thing at our January meeting 🌟NEW THIS YEAR 🌟Based on the survey results (thanks to everyone who filled it out!), we are moving our monthly meeting to the last Monday of the month and starting a little later at 6:30pm. We are also shortening our meeting time to 90 minutes. 💚As always, arrive when you can and leave when you need to. We'll also be sticking with virtual/Zoom meetings for now! It's hard to balance a day and time that works for everyone, so we'll see how this goes for a few months to start. 📖 As an Indigenous scientist and author of Braiding Sweetgrass, Robin Wall Kimmerer harvests serviceberries alongside the birds, she considers the ethic of reciprocity that lies at the heart of the gift economy.
