"Forever Home:" Pre-Screening & Discussion with Director Allison Argo

Join the Institute for Humane Education for a free, exclusive screening of Forever Home — a beautiful 56-minute film that has only been shown at two film festivals. Follow the journey of an architect who blends sustainable design with radical empathy, transforming a North Carolina farmed animal refuge into a haven for creativity, compassion, and connection. This film is a wonderful way to invite conversations about animal sentience, kindness, and our shared world. Come get inspired and connect with others who care about creating a more compassionate future — for people, animals, and the planet. The director, Allison Argo, will join us to share insights into how she discovered the project and what compelled her to tell this story. After the viewing, we’ll have a group discussion on possible ways to incorporate the film into classrooms and education settings. Argo’s films have won over 100 awards internationally, and she is known for her emotionally charged, deeply personal work—particularly her intimate portraits of abused and endangered animals.
