Talk at AVA Summit India: Crucial but neglected areas of work in animal advocacy in Asia

This talk will briefly explain cause prioritisation in animal advocacy and highlight several overlooked areas of work that meet these criteria. We'll focus on fields that are both highly neglected and have the potential to impact vast numbers of sentient beings, particularly in relation to Asia. Some of these areas include expanding our moral circle to encompass invertebrates and aquatic animals in Asia, addressing wild animal suffering, considering future risks to animals due to technological development, and promoting the expanding moral circle through a rejection of speciesism (and ultimately substratism). The talk will succinctly make a case for each of these areas and outline how progress could be made in each domain. By engaging in these cause areas, advocates can significantly increase the impact of animal advocacy across Asia both in the present and future.
