The Horse In the Room: Rally to End Canada's Live Horse Exports

This is an INPERSON EVENT - WE JUST DONT HAVE THE LOCATION YET> Join Animal Justice for a powerful rally outside the Liberal Party retreat in Edmonton this September to demand a federal ban on the live export of Canadian horses to Japan for slaughter. Every year, thousands of horses are flown from Canada to Japan—confined in cramped wooden crates for long, terrifying journeys—only to be slaughtered for raw horse meat (sashimi). This industry inflicts immense suffering. But there’s hope. Back in 2021, the Liberal Party promised action—but so far, the cruel flights continue. With the Liberal caucus gathering in Edmonton, this is our moment to remind them that Canadians expect the new government to follow through and end this cruel trade once and for all. 🐴 Giant inflatable horses will serve as a striking visual centrepiece. 🪧 Signs will be provided Let’s show the Liberals that Canadians appreciate their strong commitment to protect horses, and remain united in calling for an end to this cruel industry.
