If you have grappling experience we'd still love for you to join us and help show everyone how fun and empowering it can be!
What is Jiu-Jitsu?
Jiu-Jitsu or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport system that focuses on grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting. BJJ advocates the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent by using technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent.
How much does it cost?
All our sessions are completely free and open to the wider community.
Who can participate?
Any and all are welcome! Regardless of gender, skill level or fitness level we will do our very best to accommodate you.
What do I need?
We recommend cool, light and non-restrictive clothing - something you're ready to sweat in. Although not essential, a mouthpiece can also a good idea for higher intensity sparring.
