About this event

There is a drama playing out in Congress. The National Pork Producers Council is asking federal lawmakers to wipe out the states' most important farm animal welfare laws. Their weapon is a bill call the Food Security and Farm Protection Act, and despite its anodyne name, it will mean horror for countless farm animals. We've defeated similar initiatives over the past decade, but this latest effort is the most aggressive and best-funded one yet. That's why it's especially critical to let you know what's going on and to enlist your ardent support. On Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 8 p.m. ET, join Animal Wellness Action and the Center for a Humane Economy for a live webinar in the Claudia Miller Ignites Series on Animal Welfare. It will focus on how to defeat this bill, formerly known as the EATS Act. It would strip states and communities of their ability to enforce humane farming standards—undoing bipartisan progress made across the country. Our expert panel will include Wayne Pacelle, president of Animal Wellness Action and the Center, and Scott Edwards, general counsel of the groups. Also on hand will be national experts qualified to talk about this bill, its potential consequences for animals, and how to make sure it never becomes law. Sign up today because seating is limited for this special online event. ✅ Free registration ✅ Replay link sent to all registrants ✅ Live Q&A session
