SE SG Summer Potluck and Movie Night: Making Seitan

Rich and Charlie are hosting a potluck and DVD showing at their home 1434 Roosevelt, Modesto, at 4:00 pm, Aug 9, Saturday. Bring anything you like but keep in mind anything with seitan would be a good option considering the DVD subject matter-seitan and the event the week after. After eating we will be showing the Vegan Cooking for Animal Lovers DVD featuring making seitan. The chef will show us how he makes his own seitan/wheat meat. Of course, you can buy packaged, processed, seasoned seitan at the store but why not make your own to suit your own taste? Warning for those of you who have sensitive ears, the chef uses salty language but it's all in fun. On the following Saturday, Aug 16, 2025, I'll have a Cooking with Friends afternoon at my house, 103 Chabot Court, Modesto at 2:00 pm. This will be a hands on class for making seitan various ways. Seitan can be make as sausage links, deli slices, chicken-like, beef-like and even fish-like. It's amazing. Cost is $15.00 per person and you will get to take home a package of Bob's Red Mill Vital Wheat Gluten Flour so you can make it at your home. Limit is 5 people.
