About this event
Over 2023 and 2024 animal protection organisation Farm Transparency Project (FTP) investigated 30 Australian slaughterhouses across five states in Australia’s largest investigation into animal slaughter facilities. They installed dozens of hidden cameras, capturing hundreds of hours of footage of the slaughter of pigs, goats, cows, calves, sheep, rabbits, ducks, chickens, deer and camels.
At every facility, FTP found evidence of illegal activity and breaches of state and federal regulation. In a new report, the stark reality of Australian animal slaughter is laid bare, as are the inadequacy of the laws meant to protect sentient beings from pain, fear and distress.
Now, it’s time to take action.
From the 28th July - 3rd August 2025, actions will be taking place in each state where slaughterhouses were investigated, drawing attention to the footage that was captured and the animals who continue to suffer inside slaughterhouses across the country.
Join us at a peaceful Vigil in Sydney on Thursday, July 31st as we hold a memorial for the lives lost outside one of the 30 Slaughterhouses exposed by Farm Transparency Project in this campaign.
Signs and corflutes will be provided but please feel free to bring along flowers, soft toys, letters if you wish to place in memory of the animals.
