Free Lawn Concert @ the Manitou Springs Library

I'll be hanging out for this upcoming Wednesday's lawn concert in Manitou to listen to the Academy Jazz Ensemble--please join me if you can! A reminder that parking is free in Manitou after 6 p.m. More about the event: This season's concert series will be held outdoors on the lawn of the newly renovated Manitou Springs Carnegie Library, located at the southwest corner of Manitou Avenue and Pawnee Avenue. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the music of this summer concert series. This sixth concert of the series features the jazz and big band music of the Academy Jazz Ensemble. The AJE is a professional big band whose mission is to explore and preserve the music of America's original art form. The membership includes the finest jazz musicians in the area, many of whom are public school teachers. Our repertoire spans from rare and historical big band works to some of the newest original music for contemporary jazz bands. Our music book represents the passion and poise this ensemble brings to the stage. This passion makes the Academy Jazz Ensemble a unique voice in the Jazz community.
