Boston: Help Baby Monkeys Used in Experiments!

Please join local PETA supporters at the Massachusetts State House for an important hearing on bill S.1167/H.1948, which would prohibit baby monkeys in laboratories from being taken from their mothers for experiments for their first year of life. The bill follows PETA’s work exposing the horrific experiments of Harvard Medical School’s Margaret Livingstone, who ripped newborn rhesus macaques from their mothers and forced them to wear vision-distorting goggles for up to 18 months. She even sewed some infants’ eyelids shut. Following PETA’s efforts, federal funding for Harvard’s cruel baby monkey experiments was recently cut, but Massachusetts must enact laws to ensure the same torment never happens again. Your voice is crucial. If there is any way you can attend and comment in support of this bill, we urge you to do so. Your presence at this hearing would demonstrate to lawmakers that Massachusettsans won’t stand for ripping baby monkeys away from their mothers to be used in cruel and worthless experiments.
