July 4th Morning Hike + Potluck Picnic at South Mesa Trailhead

Start your July 4th with fresh air, good company, and a peaceful morning in nature! We'll hike a scenic loop from the South Mesa Trailhead and enjoy a relaxed potluck picnic by the creek afterward. We'll likely do a ~3–4 mile loop (Towhee, Mesa, or Big Bluestem depending on group energy). The hike is easy to moderate, with views, shade, and summer wildflowers. We’ll return around 10:45–11:00 AM to gather at the picnic area for food and hangout time. This will be a fully vegan potluck: 👉 Please bring dishes made without meat, dairy, eggs, or honey. 👉 Label your dish with ingredients or bring a copy of the recipe, so everyone can make informed choices. 👉 No need to be fancy—fruit, salads, snacks, and store-bought items are welcome! Also bring: A small cooler or ice packs if your food needs to stay cold. I’ll have a shared cooler available if needed. A chair, towel, or blanket if you want to sit by the creek. Join us for just the hike, just the picnic, or both!
