Meeting with Your MP Practice Session

Canada just elected a new Parliament, and it's our job to make sure they know that animal protection issues matter to Canadians! We're asking all Canadian AJAers to reach out to your member of parliament (MP) to get them to champion the animal issues that were on the verge of major breakthroughs before the election was called—and we're here to fully prepare you for this! If the thought of meeting with you MP makes you nervous, you're not alone! Even experienced animal advocates get stressed out by the idea of meeting with their MP. That's why we're putting on a Meeting with Your MP Training Session! Our session will include:1. A chance to write a phone call script to schedule a meeting with your MP2. Practicing your talking points for your meeting with your MP or their staff people in groups of 43. Tools on how to take some of the stress out of your potential meeting4. A debrief to share any thoughts or questions that came up for you during the practice sessions. If you want some support and a chance to practice your skills, you won't want to miss this AJA Training Session! Here's an AJA Action Brief for you to acquaint yourself with prior to the training session! We invite folks to have their video on during this event to enhance the sense of community, but it’s not mandatory.
