Hike: South Mesa trailhead

Evening Hike Meetup – South Mesa Trailhead 📍 Location: South Mesa Trailhead (4111 Eldorado Springs Dr, Boulder, CO) 🪑 Meetup Spot: Picnic tables near the parking area 🕠 Time: Meet at 5:30 PM, hike starts by 5:45 PM 🎒 Bring: Water, sturdy shoes, layers, and optionally a headlamp (sunset ~8:27 PM) Join us for a golden-hour hike from the South Mesa Trailhead! We'll take in Flatirons views, wildflowers, shady forest, and good company as we explore the trails together. 🥾 Route Plan: We’ll head out together on the Mesa Trail, then split partway up: Main group will continue onto Upper Big Bluestem, loop down via Towhee, and return on Mesa Trail (~4.4 miles, ~2.5 hours, moderate). Shorter option folks can break off earlier, heading directly onto Towhee Trail and reconnecting to Mesa for a gentler loop (~2.5 miles, ~1.5 hours, mellow). 🐕 Dogs Well-behaved dogs are welcome! This area allows off-leash dogs with a City of Boulder Voice and Sight tag. All others must remain on leash and under control. 🚗 Parking Note: The lot can fill on weekends—arrive early to grab a space. (Parking fee or Boulder OSMP pass required.)
