Columbia, MD - Meetup to End Animal Abuse at Giant Food and Food Lion
Organized by The Humane League
Date and time
Tuesday | June 10 2025 | 6:00 pm
About this event
Battery cages are one of the cruelest inventions ever inflicted upon animals. Ending the battery cage means ending the acute suffering of millions of animals.
Giant Food, Food Lion and their parent company, Ahold Delhaize, made a promise they would stop using battery cages by the end of 2025, yet they have left us with a broken promise. If our movement doesnโt hold Giant to their word, everything could crumbleโnot just for us, but for our coalition, for the movement as a whole, and for the hens at the center of this fight.
Together, we are calling out Giant Food on their greed, their backwardness, and their broken promises. Join us at Great Sage, Tuesday, June 10th at 6 p.m. for an action meetup where we will socialize, eat yummy vegan food, talk about animal rights and contact decision makers at Ahold Delhaize, urging them to stop this abuse. We encourage you to bring your laptop or mobile device so you can send emails to decision makers and complete other digital actions. However this is not required! We will have letter and postcard writing supplies for those of you who would prefer to stay off your devices. Let's hold companies accountable and end animal suffering!
