About this event
The 15th National Animal Rights Day (NARD) will take place on Sunday, 1 June, worldwide!
NARD events are unique in their format and style, and altogether comprise one of the biggest globally-coordinated animal rights event in the world! They include two parts:
● A Memorial Ceremony to commemorate the billions of animals who die every year by human hands.● A Celebration of the progress that is being made towards ending the suffering of animals and bringing forth their freedom.
EVENT DETAILS:
Join us at 11:00 at The Cape Wheel at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town for our memorial service opening ceremony. At 11:45 we will go from sad and mournful to happy and hopeful, walking together to the Sea Point Promenade to enjoy the scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean and breathe in the fresh sea air. Our walk should take around 30 minutes after which we will arrive at the Paws-a-While market on the bustling Sea Point Promenade, 199 Beach Road. This will be the educational and celebratory part of the event – a happy gathering with vegan food, speakers, entertainers and info on animal rights and veganism.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Please wear black clothing, and should it rain, please bring an umbrella and wear weatherproof boots. An hour or two of discomfort in the rain, is nothing compared to what billions of animals have to endure. Please come out and be the voice for the voiceless!
