About this event

Hello L.A. Please also find me on IG at:@emptythetanks_losangeles I frequent IG more than other platforms, so will respond to DMs with questions or concerns faster if contacted there. : ) Please join me this year for the official Empty the Tanks Worldwide Day! This in-person event will take place Saturday May 10, 2025 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Meet-up Location will be on the Venice Beach strand at the Rose Ave. parking lot. Address is: 1 Rose Ave. Venice, CA. Note: although we are meeting at this parking lot, you are welcome to find street parking if you would prefer. Map will be added as a post to help with location. Rose Ave. parking lot fees: I believe it will still be their winter rates, so parking between 8AM-6PM will be $9. After the event, we can enjoy food and beverages at one of the local spots if anyone wants to rest their feet and chat more before heading home for the day. Make sure to pack water, a small snack, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes. I will bring some water bottles that I’m happy to share while my supply lasts. Signs: I’m bringing a few signs and encourage anyone joining to bring their own if they’d like, but not a requirement. Our WHY: “There is no need to imprison these sentient animals for entertainment and monetary reasons. The future for our world should be in eco-tourism. We should be teaching people of all ages to respect wildlife and the wild spaces they come from. Interacting with a captive dolphin that is performing a forced behavior due to food deprivation is not teaching respect – it is teaching dominance and disrespect.” -emptythetanks.org This worldwide event is organized to be a day of outreach in our communities with a purpose of educating others on why this is such an important cause, why captivity must no longer be funded and supported, how others can pass this information on and advocate to/educate their friends and families too, how to address curious young minds by teaching them to love and respect our oceans and ocean life rather than seek to find them in captivity, and together be a louder, stronger voice for the animals who cannot speak for their own freedom. Please join me in an effort to make this day a powerful one.
