Subway, FSFPA, and Stop Foie Gras Meeting

At this meeting, we will discuss our progress in Indianapolis in pushing Subway to keep their cage free promise, fighting FSFPA, and launching our Stop Foie Gras campaign! FSFPA The Food Security & Farm Protection Act (FSFPA) is currently embedded in the 2025 Farm Bill, and it poses a severe threat to the progress we've fought for together. This dangerous legislation—essentially EATS Act 2.0—would strip away state and local laws that ban cruel farming practices, particularly impacting our corporate campaigns to end battery cages for egg-laying hens. If passed, this legislation would nullify existing state laws that protect millions of egg-laying hens from being confined in battery cages so small they can't even spread their wings. All those petition signatures, calls, and demonstrations we organized together could be undone with a single vote. For example, when Proposition 12 passed in California, companies finally provided cage-free housing for hens, dramatically improving welfare for millions of birds. The Food Security & Farm Protection Act would reverse this progress overnight, condemning these hens back to lives of extreme suffering in barren wire cages. FOIE GRAS Foie gras (French for 'fat liver') is a specialty food product made of the liver of a duck or goose. Foie gras is defined as the liver of a duck or goose fattened by force feeding. In this cruel practice, the animals are force fed to the point where their livers are 10 times the usual size. A number of countries and jurisdictions have laws against force-feeding and the production, import, or sale of foie gras. In Indianapolis, this can be purchased at multiple locations. We want to stop that. Please join for this planning meeting where we will discuss tactics and make an action plan to get this despicable practice stopped as quickly as possible.
