Hannaford: End Cruel Cages for Chickens! 📍 Location: MVP Arena, Albany, NY 🗓️ Date: Friday, June 6, 2025 🕔 Time: 5:00 PM Join The Humane League for a peaceful demonstration and leafleting event to urge Hannaford to fulfill its promise to eliminate battery cages from its egg supply chain. ✊ Why We're Taking Action: Broken Promises: In 2016, Hannaford's parent company, Ahold Delhaize, pledged to sell only cage-free eggs by 2025. However, they've since delayed this commitment to 2032. Inhumane Conditions: Hens in battery cages endure extreme confinement, unable to spread their wings or engage in natural behaviors. Public Support: A majority of consumers oppose the use of battery cages and support higher welfare standards for farm animals. 📢 What to Expect: The opportunity to be a part of a visual demo Distribution of informative leaflets to raise public awareness.
