About this event

For this Special Virtual Documentary Night in honor of Women's History Month we are meeting to talk about the documentary, The Six Triple Eight. In February 1945, the U.S. Army sent the Six Triple Eight, 855 women from the Women's Army Corps (WACs), to England and France to clear the backlog of mail in the European Theater of Operations. They were the only predominantly-Black female battalion to serve in Europe during WWII, and were confronted with racism and sexism from their own leadership and troops. Producer Col. Edna Cummings will be joining us for a special guest Q&A! We will be meeting over Zoom, where we will break out into small discussion groups. We will do multiple rounds of small group discussion, then close out the night with a special guest Q&A! This event is open to all who are open to all. The one thing we ask is that people allow others to get their full thought out and that any disagreement is voiced in a civil way. Check out the Community Documentary Night website for more info or links to previously shown documentaries. Thank you and hope to see you there!
