About this event

It's the Catch-22 for animal advocates... You get into animal activism because you're a sensitive, caring being, and then you end up with a front-row seat 24/7 to the worst animal suffering imaginable!   Empathy overload is what happens when you have unrelenting exposure to the suffering of others without being resourced enough. Compassion fatigue is the depletion of empathy and caring capacity because of empathy overload. And both are serious problems in the animal advocacy movement.   In this workshop, we'll explore the triangle of antidotes to empathy overload and compassion fatigue: - Better boundaries to provide some sanctuary from the onslaught - Practical techniques to regularly process emotional pain - A daily practice to build your inner resilience   And we won't just talk about these strategies, we'll test-drive them in our time together, so you can come out of our session with some relief.
