Farm Animal Sanctuary Volunteer Day

We are organizing a volunteer day for the Bay Area at Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary in Sebastopol on Sunday, January 12th between 9am - 12pm. Date: Sunday, January 12th Time: 9:00 AM - 12 PM: Connect with the animals and make a difference by helping out with various tasks around the sanctuary. Examples of projects: Changing bedding (straw) in goat and pigs barns Raking the goat pastures Washing water buckets and food bowls Brushing goats and pigs (this one is extra fun) Giving the goats lots of love and belly rubs Information for the day: Please be here and ready to start by 9:00AM as Goatlandia will kick off the day with a quick orientation. What to Bring: Please dress for the weather and wear closed toe shoes (Boots are preferable - especially for walking in the mud and around animals.) Please bring your own water bottle You are welcome to bring food for the animals (The goats love pine or fir tree branches, lettuce leaves, oak tree leaves or branches, tortilla chips, and roses. The pigs love any type of fruit or vegetables cut into smaller pieces (especially apples and pears are good), and the chickens love lettuce or other greens, sprouts, melons, hummus, and overripe bananas.) Goatlandia asks that you do not bring animal-based products onto the property out of respect for the animals Goatlandia will provide: - Work tools including: shovels, pitchforks, picks, hammers, nails. (If you would like to bring your own and you have them, you are welcome to bring your own gloves that are sturdy). Please remember: Out of safety concerns no children under the age of 12 are allowed to attend our Volunteer Workdays. Minors 12 to 17 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in order to work inside any animal housing barns. Goatlandia will ask that each volunteer signs their Release of Liability Form upon arrival. Parents/guardians must sign releases for each of their children. Directions to Goatlandia at 1567 Cunningham Road, Sebastopol: Enter at Cunningham Road- road is very bumpy, so drive slowly Continue straight on Cunningham road until you reach the end of the road You will see the Goatlandia sign DRIVE SLOWLY through the oak trees and down driveway and be on the lookout for exiting vehicles and pedestrians on foot Once you are headed down the driveway, turn left into GUEST PARKING.There will be a sign to direct you to the parking area.
