About this event
There are animal welfare commissioners in 11 of the 16 federal states in Germany, some of which have had them for years and even decades. Time to take a closer look at these institutions and their role in political representation of animals.
In the context of this research, State Animal Welfare Commissioners were interviewed using qualitative methods regarding their office, their role, and their perceptions of the political representation of non-human animals. The presentation provides a brief overview of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the research but focuses primarily on the statements of the State Animal Welfare Commissioners and the key findings of the study.
