About this event
Participants will be better informed on the causes, symptoms, diagnosis (including alternative diagnoses) and evidence-based treatment using diet and lifestyle of IBS with a focus on plant-based diets. This will be helpful for health professionals working with patients experiencing gastroenterology symptoms, as well as the general public. Gain a deeper understanding of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), including symptoms and diagnosis as well as potential alternative diagnoses. Identify the challenges and common misconceptions of managing IBS on a plant-based diet. Understand the evidence-based dietary strategies for managing IBS, including the low FODMAP diet, in the context of a plant-based diet, and looking at its short and long-term nutritional adequacy.
