VSDC Veggie Biking - Bethesda to Washington Monument (and back)

Please join us for a ride from Bethesda to Washington Monument via Georgetown and memorials. We will be starting from the Park and Ride for Capital Crescent trail in Bethesda. From Georgetown, we will head towards the Tidal basin and touch Roosevelt, MLK, Lincoln, WWII memorials en route to Washington Monument. From Monument we will make our way back to Bethesda. Post hike lunch will be at Rooted3. We can either ride there (the roundtrip from meeting point will add another 3 miles mostly on road) or drive. Meeting point: Park and Ride for CC Trail Date: Sunday, June 16 9:30am Route: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GTx1NPihfCTkHFHF9 Length: 21 miles Difficulty level: moderate/strenuous (due to distance) Elevation change: 420 ft up & down Time: ~3 hours at moderate pace Pace: moderate ~10 mph Biking surface: paved Route type: mostly trails, some roads and sidewalks Post ride lunch spot: multiple veg options available in Bethesda, we will decide on the ride. Food/Water: Bring your own vegan snacks and (non-alcoholic) beverage to enjoy. Please carry plenty of water!
