Prison Animal Farms Exposed - Calvin Neufeld & Onyx Helper

Prison farms are nightmarish facilities that force incarcerated people to abuse animals for profit. On this AJA Lunchtime Live, we'll find out about two groups who are working to dismantle these highly problematic prison animal farm programs. We have Calvin Neufeld of Evolve Our Prison Farms joining us to share their new report exposing the Correctional Service of Canada’s planned program to have prisoners intensively farming cows and thousands of goats to produce milk for export to China... all of which is in violation of human rights and trade laws. We'll also have Onyx Helper from The Raven Corps telling us about their new OP: 13 campaign boycotting corporations that source labor and products from U.S. prison farms. We'll discuss not only how there's no rehabilitative value for prisoners working in these factory farms, but the serious harm they're doing to prisoners, animals, the environment, and surrounding communities. We'll also explore what we can do to help.
