Meet Michael and Karen Budkie- Stop Animal Exploitation Now

Please join us on August 22nd at 1pm EST, as we welcome Michael and Karen Budkie, founders of SAEN, Stop Animal Exploitation Now. SAEN was co-founded in 1996 by Michael and Karen to work exclusively on the animal experimentation issue. When they rescued an abandoned puppy on a rural road the day after getting married, it became clear that their life's work would be for the animals. Karen's animal advocacy began in high school rescuing guinea pigs from live dissection. Their volunteerism with no-kill shelters led Michael to pursue an animal health technology degree. However, this education exposed him to and trained him in the atrocities of vivisection. After witnessing these horrors firsthand, they successfully stopped a heinous cat head crash experiment at the Univ of Cincinnati. This victory propelled them to work nationally on many animal issues. To return to their original reason for being activists, they started SAEN- with the daughter Elyse- to target vivisection head-on.
