About this event
Exploring the best plant-based options for meeting both health and environmental goals as well as affordability objectives. We will discuss recent research looking at the health and nutrition profiles of different plant-based alternatives, which will allow individuals and health care professionals to choose/recommend those that are most appropriate for individual objectives and offer the greatest co-benefits in terms of both health and the environment. Gain a deeper understanding of the greater nuance that is needed when discussing the health and nutrition profile of plant-based meat alternatives, including taking into account what is being substituted and by whom. Gain a deeper understanding of the environmental case for eating less meat in higher income countries, with a focus on GHGEs and water footprints. Develop an understanding of the food environment barriers to increased consumption of plant rich diets in the UK.
