BBQ Dinner Social in Astoria

Join Plant Powered Metro New York for a night of good food and good company at this BBQ social in Astoria, Queens. We’ll meet at the restaurant Urban Vegan Roots to savor plant-based dishes right off the grill. Chef Jimmy Bardsley will serve a three-course meal of “off-menu” dishes made with whole-food ingredients, with remarks by Chef Jimmy and PPMNY’s Chef Rebecca Johnson. The special pre-fixe menu includes your choice of: Appetizers: - Citrus Salad with Cucumber Mint Vinaigrette - Street-Style Skewers - Grilled veggies with mango habanero sauce (gluten free, soy free) Entrees: - Maitake Ribs with Mango Corn Chutney - Avocado Tacos - Refried beans, avocado, romaine, pico, avocado salsa verde, cotija “cheese,” corn tortilla (gluten free, soy free) Dessert: - Vanilla Banana Sorbet w/ fresh strawberries, banana, and toasted almonds All reservations are requested by 12:00 PM on Friday, July 19th . After this time, limited space may be available, and we will no longer honor refund requests. Please note that the restaurant will accommodate gluten-free and oil-free requests.
