About this event
Hello everyone! Some Vegan Supply staff will be heading out to P.E.A.C.E Farm Sanctuary on June 15th for a volunteer work day and potluck and we'd love to have you join us.
P.E.A.C.E. were recently approved for a grant from The Eric S. Margolis Foundation to expand the sanctuary into the next phase! It will go into the forest, with a big focus still having wildlife walkways between enclosures while creating a safe animal-centered design space for sanctuary residents.
In this future pig paradise, there's a section that's been cleared which needs clean-up before A&G Fencing can come in and do their magic. We have a work party coming out on Saturday, June 15th to help with this cleaning project and possibly some painting.
This is what we will be working on for that day!
Anyone that would like to come and also do overnight camping that Saturday, that's also an option! You just have to adhere to their event policies and consider it a backcountry camping experience. You can connect directly with the sanctuary for more details on the camping.
Otherwise, we will work from 10 until about 1:30 and then break for a potluck lunch (please bring a vegan item to share with the group) and wrap up around 3pm unless you are staying to camp out.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing, as well as closed toed shoes. It's a farm space and we'd be working in the forest so hiking boots or other outdoor boots would be best. If you have work gloves, please bring those as well - and we'd also recommend bringing your own cutlerly and dish to eat off of for the potluck.
If you are interested in joining us, please RSVP to this event.
Please post in the discussion if you are in need of a ride as we would love to carpool as much as possible. If you do drive and are willing to bring others, please also post about it!
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions ahead of time.
