Harlem Movie Night: They’re Trying to Kill Us

Join Plant Powered Metro New York for a community screening of They’re Trying to Kill Us at Ginjan Cafe in Harlem, presented for Juneteenth. Produced by Billie Eilish and Chris Paul, They’re Trying to Kill Us explores how systemic and structural racism leads to disproportionate rates of chronic disease for people of color. Delving into the role that poverty and racism play in fueling disease, the documentary reveals how these systems influence our dietary choices, ultimately deciding the fate of our health. We’ll begin the evening with a brief presentation, followed by the screening. $5 entrance fee, with whole food, plant-food snacks and dishes available for additional purchase.
