Watermelon Smash Bash 2024!

Please be sure to read the details of this event as well as the confirmation email! Please be sure to bring at least one watermelon for each person in your group so everyone can SMASH! We will work on securing more donated watermelons as well for a smashing good time! Feel free to bring any other produce you'd like to share with the pigs from the list below. Saturday, June 22 is your chance to visit the Central Texas Pig Rescue (CTPR) Enchanted Pig Forest to help our residents cool off and hydrate with their favorite summer snack—watermelon! You’ll have the opportunity to meet many of our over 200 residents as you tour some of our pig neighborhoods and feed watermelons to the pigs. You’ll also have opportunities to give belly rubs and to make new friends. The heat dome over Central Texas has made this summer particularly challenging, and watermelon is our residents’ very favorite summertime snack as well as a hydrating treat. We are excited to share this fun, brunch-time experience with you, because what could be more fun than hanging with pigs and smashing watermelons?! How does the event work? Visitors will be divided into 2 guided groups, each to explore a different part of our Enchanted Pig Forest, and most importantly to smash watermelons for our residents. In between neighborhoods, you’ll enjoy a partial tour of our 26-acre property while learning about pigs, CTPR, and many of our residents in particular. This is your chance to meet the pigs you see on our socials in real life and to brighten their days with tasty watermelons. If you have a special pig you want to meet during your visit, please be sure to let the team know so we can make sure we get you in the right group! While we won’t visit the entire forest, expect a good deal of walking on dirt, grass, and/or mud. If you or anyone in your party has mobility needs or needs special accommodations to comfortably enjoy your visit, please email us at info@centraltexaspigs.org at least a week before the event. Important: We will have a volunteer at the gate from 10:15am – 10:45am. The event will start promptly at 11 am. After 10:45, we will not be able to admit you as an act of consideration for everyone's time and enjoyment of the event. The event and mini-tour will run until 1pm. Only 60 tickets are available for this event so be sure to secure yours today! CTPR is an all-volunteer, entirely donation-based organization. All ticket and merchandise purchases are non-refundable, tax-deductible donations. Your ticket helps support our fundraiser for Summer Hydration!
