September Book Club Event: My Side of the River

Join the Veggie Mijxs Book Club on Sunday, September 29th, 2024 at 3PM EST to discuss this month's read, “My Side of the River: A Memoir” by: Elizabeth Camarillo Gutierrez. My Side of the River is about a US born daughter of immigrants and what happened when, at fifteen, her parents were forced back to Mexico. She was left responsible for her younger brother, as well as her education. Determined to break the cycle of being a “statistic”, her determination pushed her forward to seize all the opportunities the US could provide. This is a BIPOC-centered event open to all cities.
