This Juneteenth, join Plant Powered Metro New York as we commemorate the emancipation of slavery with a dinner social at the Ethiopian restaurant Tsion Cafe in Sugar Hill. We’ll honor and reflect on what “Freedom Day” means while dining over a flavorful buffet of plant-based Ethiopian dishes. Attendees will be treated to a variety of traditional African recipes, including: Lentil sambusas Ful, a fava bean dish An assortment of four veggie stews of cabbage, red lentils, split peas, and collard greens, served with injera Organic mixed greens salad Jollof rice All reservations are requested by 12:00 PM on Monday, June 17th. After this time, limited space may be available, and we will no longer honor refund requests. Please note that while the restaurant will provide dishes free of animal products and will accommodate gluten-free requests, some foods will not be oil-free.
