In this self-care workshop, participants will embark on a journey of learning, connection and holistic well-being tailored specifically for animal rights activists. Through engaging discussions, experiential activities, and practical strategies, attendees will learn how to prioritize their mental, emotional, and physical health while staying committed to their activism. Throughout the workshop, participants will explore the intersection of self-care and animal rights advocacy, gaining valuable insights into sustainable activism and personal resilience.

- Identify common signs of stress and burnout in themselves and fellow activists, and learn practical coping strategies.

- Establish healthy boundaries and self-care practices to navigate the challenges of activism while maintaining personal balance.
- Create personalized self-care plans tailored to their individual needs and priorities, integrating self-care practices into their daily lives for sustained activism.

Farah is a well versed therapist with over 15 years of experience specializing in mental health, building resilience, and behaviour change. Alongside her therapeutic work, Farah is deeply committed to animal rights activism and has been actively involved in the movement for several years. She holds a Master's degree in Leadership, with a focus on animal rights leadership in New Zealand, and as the organiser for Animal Rebellion and Direct Action Everywhere chapters in New Zealand, she brings a wealth of experience in the intersection of grassroots activism, leadership and mental health. Farah also runs a mini animal sanctuary, reflecting her dedication, commitment and compassion to all beings.
